Took on social media marketing responsibilities at local sports bar I was working at after presenting comprehensive digital strategy to ownership while working at restaurant.
While transitioning from print journalist to marketing manager in 2015, I worked at a locally-owned sports bar, Firehouse No. 37, in San Ramon. At the time, I was still attending UCSC – Silicon Valley, and one of the classes was Digital Marketing. The final exam that semester was to choose a business and do an audit of the company, its competitors, its current digital efforts, and make recommendations.
Based on the instructor’s recommendation at the end of the semester, I presented this report to ownership, who gave me control of all social media platforms to promote the restaurant for 6 months before I took a full-time marketing position at Synergy Global Housing.
