Enhancing the customer experience, while growing our social media reach!

My mission was simple. Turn casual players into curious explorers. I created this campaign to teach the hidden plots, quests, and features behind our pinball cabinets and connected guests to the content through TikTok and QR codes placed right where they played.

Goal

When I joined Pinballz in 2023, I noticed that most guests treated every pinball game the same way. Almost no one realized that many machines hide storylines, quests, bosses, modes, and Easter eggs. My goal was to use short-form social media to open that world up and help players connect more deeply with the games.

Approach

I partnered with my social media coordinator to create a series of TikTok videos that walked players through the stories, secrets, and strategy behind specific machines. We explained who the characters were, what missions triggered bonus modes, and how to unlock high-scoring features.
To bring that storytelling into the arcade, we placed QR codes on every revenue-generating pinball cabinet across all Pinballz locations. Customers could scan the code, watch a captioned tutorial, and immediately apply what they learned while playing. We repurposed the strongest videos across Instagram Reels to expand reach.

Execution

I managed concepting, scripting, story selection, and publishing cadence.
Key actions included

  • Editing with captions to cut through venue noise
  • Repurposing content across platforms to maximize mileage

  • Tripled TikTok followers in two quarters

  • A repeatable system that expanded to redemption games and prize kiosks

Impact

This project changed how guests interacted with our games and how our team viewed social media. We moved from a one-way announcement channel to a tool that teaches, engages, and sparks curiosity right on the arcade floor. Guests stayed longer, played more machines, and left with a better understanding of what makes Pinballz unique.
